President: Jama Laurent, Ph.D.
Jama Laurent, Ph.D., is the President of the Creative Kids Education Foundation, a private operating Foundation in Los Angeles with a mission dedicated to classical music education. Jama is a licensed clinical psychologist in California and maintains a private practice in addition to her work with the Foundation. She received her Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Southern California School of Music, and her Ph.D. in clinical psychology. She has consulted widely on issues related to children’s advocacy, written a column for teens in Senior Scholastic, and has had her own radio broadcast. Jama has consulted to both the NBC and ABC television networks on their standards and practices with regard to appropriate programming for children. She has been a visiting lecturer at UCLA and a supervising psychologist for UCLA doctoral interns. Jama has been the founding President of the Creative Kids Education Foundation and has shaped the mission and focus of the Foundation as well as developed, written and produced all the Foundation’s internet projects.
